#keepcalm Don't have a wedding meltdown.
I JUST WANT TO SCREAM!!!!
No I'm not screaming in anger or frustration but in sheer excitement.
I really love looking at all the Pinterest ideals and going to bridal shops daydreaming about all the marvelous possibilities. In fact this is how is should be. Planning a wedding shouldn't be stressful however it inevitably is because of several factors.
Want a stress-LESS wedding? Here's some tips.
Disclaimer: it's not going to be stress free but you may not have to run out of the room in tears every day and wanting to kill your friends/family in the process.
1.) don't have so many people involved in the planning.
This is easier said than done. What about his parents? What about your own parents? Your great aunt Susie and he cat probably wants to have a say in what goes on too. The saying too may chiefs and not enough Indians comes into play.
When 20 people are giving you suggestions and advise on how the wedding should be done will stress you all the way out. Remember you and your spouse have the final say.
~the point~ either get a planner to handle everything or If your family MUST be involved, dedicate certain responsibilities to only a few people.
Example. Susie handles food, sister handles decorations and cousin handles photography.
Less people, less opinions, less stress.
2.) put it in writing.
With the millions of things to do after getting engaged don't try to retain all this in your head.
Get some sort of notebook or special wedding planner to tract your progress keeping all things orderly.
I use my iPhone but I really do need pen and paper to make sure that these next 5 months before my wedding are perfectly planned. There's something about visualizing each step and being able to check off one by one the things being accomplished that can melt the stress.
~the point~ Don't overload your mind. Write everything down and keep a checklist for easy reference as you begin your countdown to Wedded Bliss
3.) Borrow Ideas
There's thousands of creative twist and turns to make you big day an epic experience.
At first I wanted to be super original and rack my brain trying to come to something spectacular um hello this is 2015 social media had made planning one of the easiest things ever.
Pinterest is there for a reason. USE IT!
Make use of Instagram and Facebook pages dedicated to weddings. Now that's smart thinking. Trust me everything has been done before but once you start seeing the variety of things one can do you'll end up with a totally unique wedding and reception.
~the point~ Dont try to reinvent the wheel. Use the gifts that technology has given us. The world is so enormous you'll find an idea or two or three that will be perfect for you to implement in your wedding. Ladies and gentlemen the goal is for this to be fun and stress-less.
